Family Pets Perish In Duplex Fire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two family pets lost their lives in a house fire in Bellevue Tuesday night. Fire crews were called out to a duplex on Cross Timbers Drive just after 9 pm

Officials said the homeowners were not at home when the fire started. Neighbors saw the fire and called 911. When crews arrived on scene flames were shooting out of the homes windows.

Firefighters worked quickly to put out the fire, but said one side of the duplex was very heavily damaged. The other unit of the duplex had water damage, but was not affected by the fire.

Fire spokesperson Ricky Taylor said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it was not considered suspicious.

No firefighters were injured, but two dogs did die in the fire.
